Just a few days ago, we talked about Maruti's SUVs being safe, but now, the Maruti Swift has also earned a 4-star safety rating. This is surprising because the Swift is built on a platform that wasn't known for safety. Despite this, the new Swift has impressed with its safety performance, especially considering its upcoming launch in India.

Before its launch in India, the new Swift underwent crash tests at the JNCAP facility in Japan. The Swift managed to score well due to the addition of the ADAS system and its sturdy cabin, which remained intact during frontal and side pole collision tests.

When the Swift arrives in India, it won't have features like ADAS, but we still expect it to score well on safety tests. It's likely to come with six airbags as standard. The Indian version of the Swift will undergo testing at the Bharat NCAP facility, which has slightly different testing methods.

The new Swift is set to launch in India next month, featuring a dashboard design similar to the Maruti Baleno and Fronx. It comes with new features like a 9.0-inch touchscreen system, ARKAMYS surround sound, and connected car technology. However, the Indian version won't have an electric parking brake like the global model.

Maruti's SUVs like the Brezza and Grand Vitara are also expected to undergo crash tests at Bharat NCAP. These SUVs are built on Suzuki's Global C platform, which has a good safety record. With added safety features, we anticipate them to achieve a full 5-star safety rating.
